FDM reports improved results for the first half of 2008

Gross profits at International IT services business Group FDM rose 27.2%  to £6.5m for the 6 months to June 30 compared to the first half of 2007.

Gross margins increased to 25.6% (2007: 20.9%) on revenue up 4% to £25.42m.

In a joint statement, Ivan Martin, and Rod Flavell, FDM’s chairman and chief executive, said: “We are pleased to report further operational progress across the group despite the well documented economic slowdown. Our strong performance has predominately been driven by our key strategic objective to transform FDM into a high-margin IT services provider by aggressively expanding our Mountie offering, [providing staff with skills in Sun’s Java technology and Microsoft’s .Net programming platforms] the primary driver for growth in our business.

As a direct consequence, the results for the six months ended 30 June are a clear indication that further significant progress has been made as margins continue to grow across our operations.”
