Candidates found to lack basic business skills needed to perform their jobs
Most IT employers give greater weight to experience than qualifications, according to research by recruitment agency Vason Bourne.
It found 72% of HR managers it interviewed said relevant work experience in an IT department provided better proof that candidates are capable than qualifications.
The companies surveyed said that many candidates lacked basic business skills needed fort the jobs they were applying for. It found 83% of respondents believe that applicants needed additional training in communication skills, management and general business awareness.
