An emphasis now on bespoke_2
Senior-level recruiter Veredus is redesigning its business in an effort to move away from what its managing director, Mark Turner, calls “recruitment in a box”.
Turner says recruitment will remain Veredus’ core activity, but that the company is placing a new emphasis on offering bespoke services to clients in the expectation that it will lead to longer-term relationships. Research services, coaching/mentoring and talent pool development are among the offerings Veredus will offer in response to client feedback, he said.
“All of these make for richer conversations with our clients, and effective longer-term dialogue with clients,” Turner told Recruiter. “I want my most effective senior people freed up to have those conversations.”
Veredus operates in both the private and public sectors. Its current projects include: the development of a talent pool concept for central government in response to a shortage of specialist financial experts; and research for a London local authority on reward packages.
Turner confirmed there will be redundancies as a result of the changes, but said it would be “inappropriate” to give a specific number. “I would expect the process to be complete by the end of July,” Turner said.
One source put the anticipated number of redundancies as high as 40, but another company source disputed that figure, and said it will be significantly lower. Veredus, which is part of the Capita Group, has offices in London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds and Manchester.
