Ellison appointed UK country manager after interim stint
Tracy Ellison has been appointed as Kelly Services’ UK country manager. Ellison has held the position on an interim basis since January and her appointment recognises her achievements over the past six months.
Ellison joined Kelly Services in 1992, having previously worked in both the legal and recruitment sectors. Ellison joined Kelly Services to launch
the permanent placement business in Liverpool.
After her success in this role, she went on to hold various positions across the company within both corporate accounts and partnered staffing, and across the operation.
Ellison’s most recent roles within the operation have been regional sales manager, before her promotion in 2007 to director of UK operations and her recent promotion. She will be responsible for 20 offices in locations across the UK, after she helped oversee the sale of 31 branches to multisector group Interaction back in March.
In January, Kelly shed up to 350 workers as part of a restructuring exercise.
Recruitment software provider Bullhorn has appointed Peter Linas as its UK sales director. Linas will work with company co-founder and president Barry Hinckley to establish the brand’s presence in Britain and across Europe. His appointment follows the company’s recent UK launch. Bullhorn has also appointed Nick Worswick as vice president of global sales and business development. Worswick will work from the US headquarters in Boston.
Ferdinand Pieterse has been appointed financial director of the Kelly Group and will join its board as an executive director with effect from 13 July. Pieterse, a chartered accountant, is the former chief executive of Louis Dreyfus Commodities (Africa) and former chief financial officer of Citigroup Africa.
Jane Hartley has been appointed to the board of Heidrick & Struggles International. Hartley is chief executive and co-founder of the Observatory Group, an economic and political consultancy. Before co-founding Observatory Group, Hartley was CEO of the G7 Group, a political and economic research and advisory firm.
McGinley Support Services has appointed Gary Edelman to lead a new division focusing on the aviation sector. Edelman, who will take the role of operations manager within the division, is a former managing director of Labour Source.
Rebecca Evans is to return to technical consultancy Andersen Banks as a senior consultant. She will be based in the company’s Manchester office.
Urban Recruitment Group has appointed William Nicholson to head the company’s doctors division. Nicholson has been in recruitment for 15 years and was a former operations director for Reed Health.
Robson Taylor, the IT sales recruiter, has announced the return of senior consultant Lucy Ketley to its Manchester office.
Specialist sales consultancy Finlay James has hired a new sales manager to lead growth in the South of the UK. David Rowe has relocated back from Australia.
Multisector recruiter Poolia has appoin - ted five new starters. Greig Fairweather (left) will be general manager in the sales, marketing and procurement division, while Andrew Bath (below right) takes the same role in the financial services division.

Global executive search firm CTPartners has appointed Wes Richards as partner in the Redwood City, California office. With more than 14 ears of senior level search experience, Richards has recruited for chief executive, board directors, chief financial officers, chief information officers and other executive-level positions across the technology sector, and for private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Richards joins CTPartners from Korn/Ferry International where he was a senior client partner and head of its Redwood City office.
Executive search firm Korn/Ferry International has appointed Bernard S Zen-Ruffinen as president of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Zen-Ruffinen, who spent more than nine years at Heidrick & Struggles, will report to chief executive Gary Burnison.
Thorpe Molloy Recruitment has announced four promotions. Drew Alexander (far right) and Brett Solomon (left) have become business managers. Alexander, who joined Thorpe Molloy in 2004, heads the finance (permanent) division, and Solomon, who has also been with the firm for five years, leads the office personnel division. Further, Simon Chinn (second left) team lead for the engineering division, is promoted to business consultant, and IanOrme (second right) is promoted to senior consultant in the office personnel division.
HR services provider Ceridian has appointed Jennifer Stacey to chief people officer. Stacey will report directly to UK managing director Doug Sawers as part of the senior leadership team, and will be responsible for continuing to develop Ceridian’s people initiatives and expand the company’s client base.
