Slivers-of-Time, an eBay style recruitment service which allows employers to book staff by the hour, will be launched in Liverpool next week.

The launch, funded by a £500,000 government grant, follows a successful pilot project. More than 400 workers have signed up for the service, and a further 4,000 are waiting to take part.

The service rates workers on their reliability, with each employer providing feedback after each booking.

Slivers-of-Time hopes it will be able to cut a third off employers’ recruitment costs.
