Netherlands first in queue to move jobs

The new year is a prime time for UK workers to start jobseeking. But what about the rest of Europe?

A new poll from online recruiter Monster indicates that the Dutch are keenest to move jobs, with 51% of workers on the lookout for new opportunities. The Irish come second with 48%.

And 2004 looks good for the UK’s jobseekers, claimed Monster.co.uk, which said it had registered a 16% increase in job postings over the last quarter.

This coincides with the firm’s new ‘back to work’ radio advertising campaign. To clarify the news story we ran in our 23 January issue, the ads play on the reluctance of people to return to work in January and urge: “Don’t go to extremes to make your job more exciting, find the right one at Monster.co.uk.”
