DisabledGo-Jobs goes live _2

Job board becomes first dedicated site for employers to target the disabled community

DisabledGo, the disability access website, has launched DisabledGo-Jobs, the first dedicated jobs website for employers to target the disabled community.

Dr Gregory Burke, a wheelchair user throughout his working life, founded DisabledGo using his personal experience, he developed DisabledGo to provide access information for the 10 million disabled people in the UK, their families, carers and friends.

Firms registering and advertising on the website include British Nuclear Group, Leeds University, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, British Telecom, Diesel Clothing, Danone and Scottish Widows.

Dr Burke said: “Disabled people need to have confidence that employers are serious about recruiting the best talent for the job regardless of disability. If an employer advertises on DisabledGoJobs then it knows, by virtue of our massive audience, that its advertisement will be seen by disabled job-seekers.”

For a small annual licence fee employers will be able to place unlimited advertisements on the site. Each advertisement is available in a variety of formats including large text, black on yellow contrast, and a ‘read-aloud’ function for learning disabilities as well as being fully compatible with speech browsers for visually impaired users.
