Differences across the pond more than a drop in the ocean

UK recruiters work nearly an hour a day more than their US counterparts and gain better results, according to research by recruitment technology firm Bullhorn.

The findings also show there are twice as many recruitment professionals active in the UK as a proportion of overall population than in the US.

While exactly three-quarters of US recruiters hit or surpassed their revenue targets in 2010, 87% of British recruiters did the same.

Despite differences in daily working hours, the shorter holidays generally taken in the US mean that on both sides of the Atlantic, recruitment professionals work similar amounts overall.

The US was seen to make slightly more use of social media, at 91% of companies, 3% higher than in the UK, with Facebook use at 40% in the US and 28% in the UK.
