Monday
To deal with the continued demand for our services we are expanding our team by adding an extra two consultants at Leicester Select Appointments. Office manager Sarah Baillie and I spend the best part of the day interviewing some great applicants. The day is a busy one as we meet with a variety of candidates, but the demand for extra staff in this current climate is reassuring, proving that our policy of outstanding customer service and commitment to our clients and candidates has been paying off.

Tuesday
The increase in press coverage about Select and my hectic schedule requires a quick morning meeting with our PR agency Fuelled Media to discuss our new marketing and PR strategy. After, I head over to our Coventry offices of Select Appointments and Parkhouse Recruitment to reflect on the month so far and how we can move forward into new growth areas for the second half of the year.

Wednesday
Meet with the executives of an international IT recruitment company to discuss the prospect of Select Appointments supporting them by filling
the gaps in the types of roles they provide for. Leave the meeting feeling positive as it gives us a good reason to meet again to move things forward. I am confident that this strategic alliance will benefit both parties.

Thursday
Today we had a VIP to our Leicester office — Diane Martyn, CEO of the Select Group. Diane came in to see how we have been coping in the current economic client and to share ideas. After a productive meeting discussing some innovative ideas, Diane spent some time talking to the staff and she was impressed with the mood and fantastic atmosphere in the office.

Friday
An early 6:30am start for a BNI [Business Networking International] networking meeting. More and more companies are seeing the benefits of using networking groups to gain new business. We’ve been members of BNI Premier Chapter in Leicester for two and a half years now and we have very productive results. Back in the office for 9am, after a quick check of emails I’m out again visiting clients with the consultants to make sure we’re giving the very best service. End the day with a quick meeting with all staff. I think this has been a very eventful but overall productive week, on reflection.
