International recruiter Hudson Highland Group has announced that chairman and chief executive Jon Chait is to retire from the firm following its annual meeting of shareholders next April.

Chait says: “Hudson is progressing well in the aftermath of the global downturn and we have an excellent senior leadership team in place. After eight years at the helm, I think this is a good time for me to move on to a new chapter in my life and for a new leader to take Hudson to the next level.

“I have discussed this with our board of directors and we have agreed to engage Spencer Stuart to conduct the search for a CEO. They will consider both internal and external candidates.”
