Matrix Managed Services, Eden Brown's vendor management and managed recruitment services division, has won the contract to manage all Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council's temporary and agency staffing needs. The contract is initially due to run for three years, with an option to extend it to five. Ian Wolter, chief executive of Matrix, said that as well as providing "significant savings to the council", the contract would improve "both the quality of staff and the quality of the service received by council tax payers".



Chasing down IT staff

IT recruiter Chase Zander IT has signed an exclusive partnership agreement to provide insurance intermediary BGL Group (formerly the Budget Group) with IT staff.



Millbank staffs AMEC

Millbank, the Runcorn-based engineering and recruitment services group, has signed a five-year agreement with AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, to manage its recruitment operations. Millbank will operate from AMEC's nuclear headquarters in Knutsford, Cheshire.



Bathstore prefers Aligra

Oxford-based Aligra Personnel has been appointed as preferred supplier for Bathstore's South of England distribution centres. Aligra, which opened for business in May, will supply all temporary and permanent staff, including drivers, warehouse, administrative and management personnel.
