Kingston Communications appoints recruitment process outsource specialist ; The University of Bristol awards preferred supplier contract to right4staff; Ambition 24hours makes acquisition
Kingston Communications has appointed recruitment process outsource specialist Independent RPO to manage all recruitment for its Affiniti business. A central team of four Independent staff - based in Affiniti's Wakefield and Hemel Hempstead offices - will operate the recruitment process. Independent RPO will also provide a web advertising service to the wider Kingston Group. Independent provides similar services for British Energy and Northern Foods.

The University of Bristol has awarded one of three preferred supplier contracts to right4staff, to provide temp administration, accounting, catering and industrial staff. The contract will be managed by a dedicated account team at right4staff's local Bristol branch, but with frequent activities and visibility at Bristol University's campus.

Ambition 24hours has made an acquisition as part of an £11m expansion programme of its nursing agency business in South Africa. The company has bought Nursing Services of South Africa, the second-biggest nursing agency in the country. The price was not disclosed. Ambition 24hours was founded, and is still run by, Penny Streeter, who now lives in the UK. Ambition24hours announced the three-year, £11m programme in 2004.

The Professional Contractors Group, which represents freelance contractors, has chosen Parasol Limited to deliver a compliant Quality Umbrella solution for its members. The new scheme, called PCG (QU), offers contractors web-based processing of timesheets and invoices. The system also claims to offer "bundled professional indemnity, public and employers' liability insurance for peace of mind".
