Specialist accountant for contractors Danbro has won an AUG licence, allowing the firm to carry out labour leasing in Germany.

The Arbeitnehmerüberlassungsgesetz (AUG) is the law which regulates the business of one company transferring its employees to work temporarily with another company within Germany.Danbro’s licence win means it can now help clients who are looking to work in Germany, as well as recruiters who are looking to supply their own staff there.

Danbro’s Gerry Gregoire said: “This is great news as we can now assist recruitment agencies who want to develop their presence in Germany using a compliant payroll vessel.

“Many end-clients over in Germany are reluctant to deal with a contractor unless the employer holds an AUG licence. This reluctance stems from risk of the contractor declaring himself to be the employee of the end-client and as a result, if any tax or social security liabilities are owed, the end-client could be found liable for these outstanding amounts.

“Now that we hold the AUG licence, we are classed as the employer under AUG licence terms, thus are in a position to deal with UK contractors working in Germany compliantly.”
