Salaries for permanent IT roles have risen by 2%, according to new research from IT recruitment specialist CV Screen.

The study, which benchmarked 50 different IT roles and monitored over 7,000 advertised positions in the UK during Q1 2010, found that the average salary for an IT professional is now £36,818.

CV Screen’s Matthew Iveson says: “At the beginning of 2009, it was clear that candidates were understandably reluctant to change roles due to the economic climate. Only now are we seeing greater mobility in the market as IT professionals have the confidence to seek new roles which offer career prospects and in many cases a higher salary.”
