Cost control helps profits rise at Pertemps

Pertemps has reported a rise in profits to nearly £2m.

Profit rose to £1,939,000 in the 12 months to 31 December 2009. This compares with £1,726000 in 2008.

Profit rose to £1,939,000 in the 12 months to 31 December 2009. This compares with £1,726000 in 2008. 

Turnover was up slightly at £231,531,000 (2008: £225,991,000)

In their report, the Pertemps directors note that despite a “significant reduction in margin” that reduced gross profit, the company managed to increase profit before tax due to “significant cost control”.

The last quarter of 2009 showed significant trading improvement on the first three quarters, says the company.
