Public sector recruiter the Capita Group has agreed to acquire the private sector division of contact centre-focused outsourcing business Vertex for a cash consideration of £40.5m on a cash free, debt free basis.

Vertex Private Sector operates primarily in retail, utilities and telecommunications markets.

The business operates across sites in Liverpool, Manchester, Forres in Scotland, Salford and Sheffield, and it has additional support from a 200-strong team in India. All employees will transfer to Capita.

Legal completion of the deal will follow a TUPE consultation with employees.
