Contracts/Deals: Capita extends services for Lambeth Council
The Capita Group has been appointed as preferred bidder by the London Borough of Lambeth to form a collaborative partnership.
The Capita Group has been appointed as preferred bidder by the London Borough of Lambeth to form a collaborative partnership.
Following a competitive tender process, the new partnership will deliver a range of services encompassing the existing revenue collection contract administered by Capita. Additional services also include management of the council’s call centre operations, ICT support services and a benefits resilience service.
For these core services, the contract is expected to be worth £60m over 10 years with the option to extend for a further five years.
Councillor Paul McGlone, Lambeth Council cabinet member for finance says: “We are determined to make the whole experience of contacting the council easier and as hassle free as possible. The new partnership with Capita will ensure we continue to improve the quality and standard of contact with our residents, but also save money.”
Paul Pindar, chief executive of The Capita Group, says: “Our understanding and relationship with the London Borough of Lambeth has developed strongly since 1997 and this new phase and collaborative partnership will further enhance the Council’s services.”
