Resource Group is to support Newquay Cornwall Airport with the training of maintenance engineers through an Advanced Apprenticeship to be launched in May.

Resource Group and Lufthansa Resource Technical Training (LRTT), through a joint venture company formed in 2003 between Resource Group and Lufthansa Technical Training, will train aircraft maintenance technicians to sustain the growth of Newquay Cornwall Airport.

A two-year programme sees apprentices qualified EASA Part 66 Category A, which will allow them to certify maintenance tasks on commercial aircraft.

The programme begins with 23 days’ training provided on site at Newquay Cornwall Airport, the remainder of the eight months’ training will take place at LRTT’s purpose-built state of the art training centre at the Cotswold Airport in Gloucestershire, followed by 16 months’ vocational work experience co-ordinated by Resource Group.
