The government needs to do more to encourage consumer spending to keep the transport & logistics sector moving, according to Wayne Clarkson, network development director, DriverHire.

Clarkson told Recruiter: “The government should do all that it can to encourage consumer spending. This in turn increases the amount of goods travelling around the country and benefits the transport & logistics sector generally.

“Increasing fuel costs are also a concern as are pressure on margins for clients. Some are worried about how they can resource their business more efficiently. And of course there is still doubt about the strength and reliability of the recovery.”
