The construction sector is the worst payer of recruitment agencies in terms of late payment in the North of England, but the service sector is the worse in the South, says a Venture Finance survey. The study found 40% of recruiters in Manchester said construction was the worst sector for late payment, while in London the same number of agencies highlighted the service sector as the worse offender. Venture Finance director Steve Websdale said: “Ideally, a firm would avoid dealing with companies or sectors that are bad payers, but this is not always possible. In these cases it is even more important to ensure the firm’s credit control processes are completely up to speed.”
