Responding to Guy Hayward’s article “Experience Beats Value”, 17 August, the purpose of values is to clearly state what a firm believes is important. Each value will then have a desired set of behaviours.

It is crucial when rolling out your values that everyone experiences the values, they are not merely read in posters or handbooks.

Once everyone behaves in line with the values, you have your culture which leads to the experience for your staff, clients and candidates.
