Corporate Services Group’s outsourcing division, Comensura, has signed an agreement to handle temp requirements for the London borough of Islington.

The company will be responsible for the borough’s temporary labour spend of £35m per year across its four councils. The initiative will see Comensura work in partnership with managers across the council to streamline the recruitment process.

Comensura will manage 203 local staffing vendors and the deal will be the first time this kind of arrangement has been applied on a large scale across a local authority.

Julian Young, Comensura’s chief executive, said: “By sitting at the interface between the council and approved suppliers, we are removing a major administrative burden for Islington managers. This reduces the councils’ overheads and assures equal terms and conditions for vendors.”
