Forum3 reveals the importance of flexible working

Organisations which do not have a formal flexible working policy risk losing out on the best talent, according to research from forum3, the UK’s only not-for-profit recruitment event.

The research found that 63% of respondents would consider leaving a job that did not have a formal flexible working strategy, and a further 95% said that flexible working is an important differentiator when assessing an organisation as a prospective employer.

It found that 92% of respondents would be more likely to accept a job with an organisation that has a formal flexible working policy.
The research found that 22% of those polled have requested flexible working, only to have their request declined.

Debbie Hockham, director of forum3, says: “Recruiting the best talent is integral to the success of organisations operating in any sector.  While flexible working may not be appropriate for every role in every industry, this survey sends out a clear message.  Candidates place a great deal of importance on this when evaluating a prospective employer so those organisations that do not offer flexible working may be missing out on the best talent.”
