Research finds businesses are missing out by not recording telephone calls

Around 80% of UK businesses could be missing out on important training, sales and compliance benefits of recording telephone conversations, according to research by Crucible Technologies.

The research revealed that 30% of those asked falsely believe recording telephone conversations is illegal and 46% believed there was no need to record phone calls.

Crucible Technologies’ Seggy Segaran says: "It's scary to think of the amount of time employees must waste scribing telephone conversations. It reveals a genuine and unnecessary inefficiency.

“Telephone recording technology is so inexpensive and easy to use that, providing businesses follow a few straight forward legal guidelines, they can be up and running in minutes.

"Recording calls takes the uncertainty out of day-to-day transactions. Many businesses already routinely record telephone conversations. It helps them to resolve disputes; train staff; monitor professional compliance; and, even undertake their own research and mystery shopping."

Crucible Technologies has publishing a new free guide to demystify the legalities of telephone conversation recording.
