Job advert postings have fallen by 32.2% in the recession, according to 2009 analysis by advert distribution and response tracking technology provider Broadbean Technology.

Its analysis shows that the building and construction industry saw a 67.8% decrease in the numbers of jobs posted when comparing 2009 to 2008, marking it the worst hit industry of the year.

However, not-for-profit industries saw a significant upturn increase in job opportunities being advertised with the social care industry witnessing an unprecedented rise following a government recruitment campaign for social workers.

The research also shows that the IT and administrative sectors also benefited from a bounce back in the financial sector.
