Increasing numbers of cash-strapped British workers are taking second jobs to help fund this year’s summer holiday, according to research from freelance jobs specialist PeoplePerHour.com.
Increasing numbers of cash-strapped British workers are taking second jobs to help fund this year’s summer holiday, according to research from freelance jobs specialist PeoplePerHour.com.
The research shows in the past six months, PeoplePerHour.com has seen a 90% rise in the number of second-job workers and over the past year the figure is up 177%.
A recent poll by Harris Interactive reveals 25% of Brits have already cancelled holiday plans, while three-quarters of holidaymakers were ’somewhat concerned’ about being unable to afford a break. Around 20% said they would do whatever it takes to ensure their holiday plans went ahead as usual.
