Survey finds that the characteristics of managers is changing, but perception differs greatly between the manager and their staff

Ranting managers are becoming a thing of the past, being replaced by bosses who consult staff more often, according to research from Totaljobs.com.

It found that four out of five managers regarded themselves as trustworthy, but fewer than one in three of their staff agreed. One in five managers described themselves as a fun, but only one in ten of staff agreed.

The survey found that Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson is the most popular manager, while Gordon Ramsey and Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson are the least favourite bosses.
