BFRS to host event to help ex-Forces personnel back into ‘civvy street’
13 September 2012
The British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) is to hold a networking event in Aldershot to help past, present and future service leavers and their family members access a range of support organisations and find meaningful employment.
Held in Aldershot on 16 September, the event will also include practical sessions in areas such as CV writing where common mistakes often make the transition to civilian life more difficult.
Gethin Roberts, director of BFRS, says: “Figures have highlighted that 25,000 are leaving through ‘natural wastage’ while 20,000 will be flooding the civilian jobs market due to major military cuts. Our event is aimed at helping prepare these personnel for the transition from military to civilian life.”
