Beware copycat recruiters

Recruiters should be wary of the threat of online content theft, according to technical and engineering recruitment firm NES.

The firm has identified several ‘copy & paste’ companies failing to comply with copyright laws when creating their own web pages and taking information that is not rightfully theirs.

Matt Cody, marketing director at NES, told Recruiter: “We conduct regular checks to make sure our content is not replicated. We issued ‘cease and desist’ letters through our commercial department. They have changed their content as a result of that.

“In the Midlands case, they copied a good proportion of our career management library. We are in the process of sending out cease and desist letters again and are looking to get a resolution as soon as possible.”
