Automotive recruitment: Recruitment suffers as automotive manufacturers bring in three-day week

As car makers bring in a three-day week, recruitment is really suffering, a recruiter has claimed.

According to The Times newspaper, motor manufacturers including Ford, Bentley and Land Rover are bringing in three and four-day weeks as car production slumps.

Stella Lee, director of Southam & Warwick Employment Group, a multi-sector recruiter that recruits automotive professionals, told Recruiter: “Automotive engineering is being hit quite badly. People are not purchasing new vehicles. They are just having the ones they have got repaired. We are finding that engineers are being laid off.”
