Assistance required for wounded serviceman

The founder of Soldier On!, a charity that is working to get injured service men and women into meaningful careers, is calling for recruiters to help a corporal injured in Afghanistan.

Soldier On! founder Nicholas Harrison told Recruiter that the corporal who was injured in an IED [improvised explosive device] attack in Afghanistan is desperately looking for a three-week IT placement in the Aldershot, Hampshire area.

Harrison says that severe difficulties in identifying partners, who can provide the placement have led to the corporal’s training being postponed four times.

Harrison adds: “The regiment is now as desperate as the candidate and we have been asked if we can use our network to see, quickly, if we can find any IT companies within a commutable distance to Aldershot, that would be able to take a candidate on to carry out the placement piece.

“Despite his prosthetic leg, he is in very good shape physically and is someone I would have no anxieties about sending to any reputable firm; he is a switched-on man.”

• If you think you can help or you are interested in finding out more, please contact Nicholas Harrison on [email protected] or 07884365054.
