ARC urges no delay in AWR review

The Confederation of British Industry’s call for an early review of the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) has been welcomed by the Association of Recruitment Consultancies (ARC).

The Confederation of British Industry’s call for an early review of the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) has been welcomed by the Association of Recruitment Consultancies (ARC).

A survey carried out by ARC earlier this month showed that its members believe the regulations are having an adverse affect on businesses and undermining the job market for agency workers.

Adrian Marlowe, chairman of the ARC, says: “The option is there for an early review and if indicators are correct, there can be no advantage in delay.”

As reported in Recruiter 16 November, 73% of firms surveyed by recruitment agency Barclay Meade did not feel AWR would have a negative impact on their firm, with a further 8% of firms unaware of the legislation’s existence.
