IT and financial services recruitment specialist, Bright Purple Resourcing, has appointed Neil Lafferty (right) to the new role of sales director.

He joins the Edinburgh-based company from Rise Recruitment, part of Murray Capital, where he was group sales director. He will be responsible for all UK sales activity for Bright Purple’s offices in Edinburgh and London.

Lafferty started his recruitment sector career in 1997 with ASA International. Other new recruits at Bright Purple include Katie Gilmore, who will head up the company’s open market contracts team, and Ben Stanfield, a 10-year veteran of the recruitment industry who joins as a senior consultant.

The new recruits follow April’s annual results from Bright Purple, which saw a significant rise in their turnover — up from £18.6m to £37m — and profits, which rose to £1.4m. The company also announced the opening of its first foreign office in Singapore last month, which will target the South-East Asia market.
