Legal recruiter AM Legal has joined forces with training organisations Lawtrain and the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) to put on a half-day workshop, aimed at developing skills necessary for legal secretary and legal executive roles.

Attendees underwent training, completed assessments and received a certificate marking the session.

Simon Froggatt, team leader at AM Legal, says: “We work with a lot of law firms and they brief us on the skills they’d like for their roles.

“They want to hire individuals who can hit the ground running and have a familiarity with the environment they are entering into.

“By providing this workshop, we’re giving our candidates some training which would lead to a formal qualification, which will make them stand-out for our clients.

“Then, when they attend interviews, they can show they have been pro-active in developing their skills and end up with the best jobs available.”
