Agency survey
Almost 50% of workers miss their lunch break at least twice a week, as life is too hectic for them to take a break, a survey has revealed.
The study, by GW Professional, which comprises the FSS and Crone Corkill brands, showed only 35% of respondents take their full hour’s lunch break every day. Another 15% miss out on their break four times a week.”
“This is evidence that not only are we working longer hours, we are also forfeiting the little time we have free to stop and relax” says Paul Marsh, HR director at GW Professional. “Although once in a while sacrifices have to be made, many people are missing their lunch break several times a week.”
However, he adds: “Those employers who focus on employee wellbeing issues such as insisting on a lunch break, will not only help retain talent but also maximise productivity.”
