Contact Recruitment tackles the financial skills shortage
Contact Recruitment has been working with the East London Business Alliance (ELBA) to tackle the skills shortage in the banking sector.
Contact Recruitment group managing director, Uzair Bawany (pictured), and his team have committed their time, investment and resources in hosting a series of training sessions for graduates and ELBA’s own advisors.
The seminars have been specifically designed to give the advisors’ precious insight into the world of finance and recruitment, and highlight the attributes that are sought in candidates, as wells as how to look for transferable skills that are so pivotal in today’s candidate driven marketplace.
The first session with the graduates gave them the practical information on the sector the different roles and the opportunities, as well as advising them on interview preparation and internships. A separate session with the advisers dug deep into the various roles and the type of person and qualifications required for each.
Bawany says: “Companies simply don’t have the time to recruit people themselves and can’t afford to be a team member down. As a result we have a wealth of experience in terms of what employers are looking for in the banking sector and it was great to be able to use this information to give graduates a head start.”
