Agency acquisition

Vedior buys into German agency
Vedior has signed an agreement to acquire a 70% interest in Gulp Information Services and Gulp Consulting Services, a provider of temporary IT staff.

Gulp operates through a network of four offices servicing clients throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Gulp also sells access to an online database of more than 60,000 skilled freelancers to employers searching for appropriate project skills, as well as subscriptions for the freelancers themselves to promote their availability and expertise.

Tex Gunning (pictured), Vedior’s chief executive, says: “This acquisition achieves two important objectives for Vedior. Firstly expanding our presence in the fast-growing German recruitment market and, secondly enhancing our global presence in the provision of skilled IT professionals.”

Gulp’s existing management team will continue to develop the company and the outstanding 30% interest will remain with management.

The transaction has been approved by the boards of directors of both companies, and is subject to approval by the Bundeskartellamt (German anti-trust organisation).
