AA drives its recruitment process online

Taking breakdown and motoring organisation AA’s recruitment process online and streamlining it has seen the number of completed applications roughly double to more than 30,000 in two years.

Taking breakdown and motoring organisation AA’s recruitment process online and streamlining it has seen the number of completed applications roughly double to more than 30,000 in two years.

Since fully adopting StepStone Solutions’ iGRasp offering, the AA has also halved its time to hire from 77 days in 2006-07 to 37 now, according to Lorraine Lopez, HR resourcing manager.

Speaking to Recruiter, Lopez said that streamlining the firm’s unwieldy application questionnaire was a crucial step in moving the process online. “People used to get fed up with it,” she said of the old form.

Being able to create a talent pipeline which can organise the volume of candidates by location and by availability has helped cut the time to hire.
The process “splits people up into two groups - people who are talented, interested, qualified but not in the right [geographic] area, and people who are just not ready yet”, she said.
