50,000 new jobs a year for growing G4S

Global security and maintenance firm G4S is expected to create 40,000-50,000 new jobs a year across the company, according to a company spokesperson.

The spokesperson adds that 10% of these new roles will be in the UK.

These figures are based on “current growth projections”.

G4S also tells Recruiter that: “We’ve been growing in all markets, but particularly strongly in the developing world, so we anticipate more growth in what is a £500bn global facilities management market […] there is no shortage of growth potential out there.”

Earlier this week G4S announced that it was preparing to buy worldwide facilities management firm ISS in a £5.2bn deal.

“There will be an extraordinary general meeting of the company in early November, and we hope to tie up the loose ends of the deal by the end of the year,” says the spokesperson, adding that recruitment into new roles could start as early as January 2012.
