CPL Resources is seeing “gradual, but noticeable” improvements in trading, according to chairman John Hennessy.

Following the Irish firm’s AGM yesterday, Hennessy says: “As indicated when we announced our results to 30 June 2010, we are continuing to experience gradual, but noticeable, improvements in the markets in which we operate.

“The first quarter of our financial year to 30 September 2010 was encouraging, and current indications are that our pre-tax profit for the six months to 31 December 2010 will exceed €3.8m (£3.3m).

“However, in the light of the current level of uncertainty in the Irish economy, it is not possible to forecast performance for 2011. We will release our interim statement on the 27 January 2011.”
