Bristol City Council (BCC) has put out to tender a £2m, three-year contract for recruiters to provide temporary workers across a range of skill sets.

The authority is looking for temporary staff in the social work, housing and benefits, engineering, surveying, environmental health, trading standards, and town planning and regeneration sectors.

BCC is looking to supplement an existing managed service agreement with Randstad, which was signed in April 2005.

Kirsty Wood, procurement officer for the council, told Recruiter: "We want this agreement to run alongside the existing one with Randstad, which is due to end in 2010. There is a provision, though, to extend this deal by two years."

Wood explained that the skills the council were looking for were "outside the scope" of Randstad, which has supplied professionals ranging from admin and clerical staff to gardeners.

Registrations of interest will be handled via BCC's procurement website at https://procurement. bristol.gov.uk.

The deadline for expressions of interests is 11 April.
