Yourfoodjob denies conflict of interest

A food and catering job board has hit back at claims that it is operating unethically, denying two of its directors are involved in a conflict of interest.

Yourfoodjob.com, which has been up and running for six months, has met with criticism from some members of the industry amid claims that it was a “front” for another firm, food manufacturing company Focus Management.

Two of the directors of Yourfoodjob.com, Michael Staniland and Stephen Jones, are also directors of Focus Management.

But the commercial director of Yourfoodjob, Adele Skinner, denied anonymous claims that the site was being used as a “front” and added: “The site is for the food industry and that is it, full stop.”

Skinner said that Staniland and Jones were directors and shareholders, but had no other vested interest in the company that they were not declaring. “We’ve been very open and honest about the fact they are on board and hopefully now we can put these rumours to bed,” she added.

Yourfoodjob was set up in April to act as a ‘one-stop shop’ for the food and catering industry, and is currently averaging 150,000 hits per month.

It recruits for all positions from front-of-house staff to chefs, and Skinner said the site’s main focus over the next few months would be making it easier to use.

“We know there are good candidates out there, it’s just a question of how to attract them,” she revealed.
