Working Links rejuvenation

Glasgow homes get facelift

Working Links, the welfare-to-work recruiter, held a ceremony last month to mark the completion of a refurbishment programme in Glasgow.

Working Links funded the project, at a cost of around £70,000, to improve the standard of accommodation at Branston Court - the largest supported housing unit for young single homeless people managed by the YMCA Glasgow.

The project provided work for a team of unemployed adults for four months to renovate the centre.

A number of participants earned a full-time wage during the programme doing painting and decorating and basic maintenance.

Working Links, which is run by the Manpower recruitment agency, ran the project in partnership with the YMCA and training firm MI Technologies.
