Anne Marie Devaney (left) is officially ‘One in A Million’ – the first-ever winner of a UK-wide award to recognise a temporary worker who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Nominated by the Glasgow branch of recruiter Swiis, care worker Devaney has gone the extra mile over the last year by such measures as organising free manicures for at-risk mothers in her care.

“Our clients very often ask for Anne Marie by name – she is always in demand,” says Swiis’s Moira McGowan. Devaney herself says what she loves about temping is “the variety – no two days are the same”.

REC managing director Gareth Osborne called Devaney “an outstanding example of a professional, flexible worker”.
