A quarter of European workers are internet addicts, according to a new survey by internet management software company Websense.

Websense has dubbed these "insatiable surfers", with 16% of these admitting to being "download DJs", who love to find music, games and other free downloads on the web.

The Netherlands contained the highest percentage of insatiable surfers, but UK users were the biggest fans of downloading music, film, software and games – as well as visiting peer-to-peer, adult content and hacking sites.

France and Germany have the highest proportion of "systematic cyber seekers", who use the net for work and personal banking.

Italy had the highest proportion of light internet users, where 41% only used it to assist in their daily tasks.
