Vedior makes its fashion debut with modelling buy
Vedior’s latest UK acquisition is taking the recruitment giant into the glare of high fashion.
Earlier this month, Vedior acquired a 75% interest in leading modelling agency MOT Models.
The 22-year-old modelling agency provides models to photographers, advertisers, designers and production companies primarily in London, but also in continental Europe.
MOT has four commercial divisions – commercial, fashion, junior and character – and generates annual bookings in excess of £4.8m. In January, the agency launched Zone Models, a niche brand providing leading fashion models and representing VIP clients.
“MOT Models is a brand-new sector for us; clearly it operates on a completely different economic cycle to our other business sectors,” Vedior John Nurthen told Recruiter. “It is this simple fact that makes it attractive to us.”
Asked if Vedior has plans to expand further into the modelling sector, Nurthen said he could see “no reason why we wouldn’t consider another acquisition in this sector”.
However, he added that acquiring MOT did not signal a “significant shift” of focus in Vedior’s acquisition programme.
Vedior did not give financial details of the MOT acquisition.
Also announced on 4 May was the acquisition of 100% interest in Argentinian oil and gas staffing company Rest Personal Eventual S.A. by Vedior subsidiary SESA Select.
