Thousands of new jobs for the South-East
The South-East will see more than 2,500 jobs created in the region as a result of the work of the South-East England Development Agency and UK Trade & Investment.
The organisations have secured 61 investments by companies from abroad, 86% are technology-driven companies.
The organisations hosted 77 company visits to the region by prospective investors in 2005/06 and has organised more than 30 events to showcase the advantages of the region.
“It is a testament to the success of the region’s strategy and to the expertise in the region that we have continued to attract high value added jobs to the region and to ensure that our leading technology sectors remain globally competitive,” says Lewis Scott, the South-East’s International director for Trade & Investment.
