Temps look to move on

Less settled than permanent staff
Twice as many temporary office workers as permanent staff look at their current work as a stepping stone to a different career, the 2005 OfficeTeam Survey reports.
The eighth annual survey of administrative staff by OfficeTeam, a division of Robert Half International, also found that 27% of the 611 survey respondents claim to be working in their career of choice, compared with 3% of temps.
Of the responses, 17% came from temporary workers, the rest from permanent staff. The findings show that UK business faces a mass exodus of PAs and administrative staff if bosses do not face up to their admin workers’ needs for inclusion, respect and benefits that reflect their lifestyle choices.
