Talking about ‘i-generation’

Tech-savvy youngsters will dominate

The next big boom in the IT recruitment market will come when a new generation of workers joins the employment market.

The ‘i-generation’ have been exposed to IT from an early age and will find existing applications dull.

“The i-generation are constantly exposed to things like interactive games and multi-player role-playing games,” Richard Barfield chief executive of IT recruiter Spring, told the Recruitment & Employment Confederation IT conference in the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel.

“Their expectations will lead to the emergence of new applications.”

Business strategist Professor Richard Scase agreed: “The i-generation is going to want very different things from employers. They want an exciting imaginative working environment and short-term projects.”
