SUNDAY TIMES RICH LIST 2007
Recruiters are among the wealthiest people in Britain and Ireland, according to The Sunday Times’ Rich List 2007.
Philippe Foriel-Destezet, former co-chairman of Adecco, was placed 56th in the list. With a fortune of £1.1bn he is richer than vacuum cleaner specialist Sir James Dyson, Paul McCartney and Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling.
The former chairman of Hays, Ronnie Frost, was placed 429th in the Sunday Times’ list. With a wealth of £165m he has more money than Rod Stewart, Simon Cowell and boxer Lennox Lewis.
Jobserve’s owners Robbie (pictured right) and Cheryl Cowling are placed equal 659th with £105m in the bank. Robbie also owns Colchester United and sponsors West Ham United.
Alexander Badenoch, who sold Badenoch & Clark in 1997, was placed equal 789th with a fortune of £85m. He has a £40m stake in London-based recruiter Venn Group. Also placed 789th is SThree’s co-founder Bill Bottriell (pictured left), who is wealthier than George Michael.
SThree’s other co-founder Simon Arber is placed equal 896th in the list with £75m in the bank. Arber is joined at 789 by Penny Streeter (pictured) the founder of Ambition 24hours, amassing the same fortune as musicians Bryan May and Ronnie Wood.
DRC Locum’s Imraan Ladak is a new entry on the Rich List’s Young 100. Placed at equal 64th he has a wealth of £8m.
Anne Heraty and Paul Carroll the husband and wife team behind Dublin-based CPL are joint 94th in the Rich List’s Ireland top 250. Worth £90m (€136m) they are wealthier than musician Enya.
